2017 Workshops at the Cabin

We are fortunate enough to have Denmark's Vithard Villumsen kick off our Knitter's in Residence Series this year. All workshops will be held in my pre-confederation log cabin and food will be served by our resident French Canadian Lumberjack.

Canadian's balls are Denmark bound

I am heading to Denmark in a few weeks to attend one of my favourite festivals, Strikkefestival Fano, and to give a talk in Saeby on the Canadian men's knitting scene. Once again I will be sporting my knitted balls. If I have as much luck as I had last year, I will find some beautiful Danes who will have fun with them.

June

I knew that June would be a challenging month. A city move, patterns to complete, a fashion show to pull together, Board Meetings, an Annual General Meeting and Pride outfits to create. And then Orlando happened.

Olympic Challenge

It has been a great summer for sports; the UEFA Euro 2016, Wimbledon, The Tour de France and now the Olympics. I always wanted to run in the Olympics, but didn't make it beyond the trials. At least I can participate in the Knitting Olympics. The yarn harlot http://www.yarnharlot.ca/ popularized this during the 2006 Olympics. The rules are simple, you cast-on during the opening ceremony, and complete the project by the closing ceremony. In traditional Olympic spirit, I grabbed my needles, yarn, shed my clothes and will have a blanket to cover me by the closing ceremony.
